Tonight my friend Jacki invited those of us who stalk the Gingerwood board to participate in a challenge and I took her up on it. The challenge is called Get in Shape and all you have to do is make a card that is any shape but a rectangle. I decided to break out my "build a flower" cuttlebug die and embossing folders and made my card into a flower blossom.
I glued down the petals to form a flower shape on a folded piece of cardstock, making sure that the top petal was close to the fold so I could trim it and it would still be a card. I cut around the flower petals by hand (don't look too close!). Then I glued the whole card to a piece of apricot cardstock and trimmed around it again by hand. I finished it off with a yellow button, some ribbon and couple of pretty pins. This was a fun challenge. I would have never taken the time to make this card otherwise. Thanks Jacki!
Maybe we could extend this challenge a little further... would you like to play? Just make a shaped card and leave a comment here with a link to your card. I'll edit this post to link anyone who participates. I hope you'll play along!

This is darling!! Like the looks of all your organized pins, too. And you do actually stamp ~ amazing! I got snowed out of my plans for Saturday, so stayed home and ~gasp~ stamped! I got a few new cuttlebug folders and tried them out (it was boring old backgrounds for me). What fun!
Hope you had a grand time at your sister's.
This is really darling, thanks for posting it! So far, I've cut and embossed a bunch of pieces, but haven't actually DONE anything!
