Today I have something really cool to share with you. I was surfing the internet and came across a flower pot card. I really loved the idea and decided to try it. Here it is:
As you can see from the picture below, this card is two pieces and when you pull up the flowers, it reveals the "inside" of the card. How cool is that?!I found directions to make this card on Stephanie Luman's website (click here). My card is made a bit larger than the directions indicate because I knew with the three dimensional flowers that it wouldn't fit in an envelope anyway.
I created the flowers and leaves with my Cricut. The flowers are with the George and Basic Shapes cartridge and then embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. The leaves are cut with the Accent Essentials cartridge. The pearl brads are from the Brides line at Michaels.
This card was pretty time consuming to make but now that I did it once, I think it will be easier and quicker to make more. It's almost too pretty to give away so I guess I better make another!
I was browsing online and came across the blog Paper, Scissors, Ink (click here) and they have cut files (both DS and SCAL) to make a flower pot card with your Cricut. This might be helpful to those of you that have those programs.
I hope you enjoyed this post... I really enjoyed making it! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Man, is your card pretty! I have those directions marked in my favorites, but no cool George to cut my flowers, although I do have the swiss dots folder, which definitely sends your blooms over the top. Excellent job, Tara!
Tara, what a wonderful card! I am going to try this for my thank you cards to volunteers who have helped me this year at school. Thanks for the idea; I love the cuttlebugged flowers.
