I am jumping for joy because it appears that my muse is back! She took off on a very long stress-induced vacation and I wasn't sure if she was ever coming back. I am a very happy girl today though... I spent the whole day in my art studio and I created seven (yes, seven!) new cards. And I have to tell you, some of them are awesome... so stay tuned to my blog this week!
Tonight I'm sharing two cards with you for Mother's Day- one for my mom and one for my mother-in-law.
This card is stamped with the Stampin' Up set Wreath of Roses, which has this lovely Mother's Day sentiment. I also thought this stamp set was perfect for my first try at using Flower Soft and I think it came out great. What do you think?
Here's a closer look.
I used K & Company Classic K Margo paper and I added lots of stitching to give it a nice detailed look. And below is the inside, layered and stitched to match.
Here's the second card....
This one also features K & Company Classic K Margo paper and the Wreath of Roses sentiment. I added tons of stitching to this card to give it the look of a quilt.
The flower is created with a Cricut- George and Basic Shapes. If you cut the flowers in graduated sizes, curl the petals upward and layer them, they make this gorgeous flower. And below is the inside- layered, stitched and adorned with ribbon and a smaller flower.
I'd like wish you all a wonderful Mother's Day and thank you for stopping by and not giving up on me while my muse was missing in action. Please come back again because I have some great stuff to share with you this week.
Enjoy your children and have a wonderful day!

I had another offer to be President of my brother-in-law's brother's fan club (he writes outdoor articles for magazines and newspapers) and I almost took it, since you were MIA. So glad I didn't. You are back with a bang! Yippee!! Love these cards and the paint chip ones, as well, especially the yellow one. Looking forward to seeing what your day of creativity brings. I barely got my Mother's Day cards done, but my downstairs stamping area is very clean and tidy for once.
These two cards are just gorgeous -- love the colours, the stitching, the inside details, and the Flower Soft on the floral wreath is just great. With all the layers inside as well as out, what do you use for your base white card?
Hi Sheryl H,
The white base cardstock on these cards is Georgia Pacific from Walmart. Other than the GP white, I pretty much only use Stampin Up cardstock.
When I am using white cardstock, if it's being used as a card base or a layer, I use the GP cardstock. If I'm stamping and/or coloring on it, I use the SU. They are so close in "color" that you can't tell the difference.
The GP is obviously cheaper, and I do this because I'm frugal. :-)
Thanks for stopping by!
Hi Nise,
Thanks for not giving up on me! Wait until you see what I have to share with you this week. I've been stamping for two full days straight. I have made over a dozen new cards and some of them are really awesome, if I do say so myself!
My husband is starting to wonder if I'm ever coming out of my art studio. We were talking at dinner tonight and he encouraged me to keep "playing" tonight- he said he's happy to see me be creative again.
Bottom line, I have the best hubby and the best fan club president!! Thanks for sticking with me! {wink}
